Correcting to One Decimal Place

To write the number 0.76 correct to one decimal place:

  • If the digit in the second decimal place is 5 or more then add 1 to the digit in the first decimal place.
  • If the digit in the second decimal place is less than 5, then leave the digit in the first decimal place as it is.

Hence 0.76 = 0.8, correct to one decimal place (1dp).
