Vulgar Fractions and Decimals

A fraction in the form 0.75 is called a 'decimal' fraction.

The equivalent fraction in the form

is called a 'vulgar' fraction.

3 is called the 'numerator'.

4 is called the 'denominator'

When the denominator is not 10, 100 or 1000 it is probably easier to use a calculator to convert a vulgar fraction into a decimal fraction.
